MUNICH (Sputnik) — Russian energy giant Gazprom is confident that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will be built as planned by the end of 2019, the company's head Alexey Miller said Saturday.
"We have no doubt that the Nord Stream 2 project will be implemented strictly in accordance with the schedule, by the end of 2019," Miller told reporters on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
The Nord Stream-2 project plans to use the original Nord Stream pipeline for 86 percent of the route before branching off. It is estimated to provide up to 55 billion cubic meters of gas directly to the German coast through the Baltic Sea.
