Belgian Armed Forces Chief to Visit Estonia Monday

The chief of defense of the Belgian armed forces will arrive in the Baltic nation of Estonia on Monday for a two-day visit, the Estonian Defense Ministry said.

TALLINN (Sputnik) – Gen. Gerard Van Caelenberge is expected to meet Comannder-in-Chief of the Estonian Defense Forces Lt.Gen. Riho Terras, according to the ministry. The Belgian general will then lay a wreath at the Estonian 1918-1920 War of Independence statue.

Van Caelenberge is later anticipated to visit the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s Force Integration Unit (NFIU), a NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence and the Amari airbase southwest of Tallinn.
