LATAKIA (Sputnik) – According to the state SANA news agency, the terrorists were destroyed in the Deir ez-Zor province.
The Deir ez-Zor province has been besieged by Daesh terrorists. In January, local residents in the besieged province told Sputnik that 280 people, including women, children and the elderly, had been killed for cooperating with the Syrian army.
On Friday, a Syrian military source told RIA Novosti that over 25 Daesh fighters had been killed in Deir ez-Zor.
On Thursday, a new batch of humanitarian aid prepared jointly by Russia and Syria was delivered to the Syrian city of Deir el-Zour, besieged by Daesh militants.
Syria has been mired in a civil war since 2011, with government forces loyal to President Bashar Assad fighting a number of opposition factions and terrorist groups, such as Daesh and al-Nusra Front.
