KIEV (Sputnik) — In December 2015, Poroshenko said he would officially visit Turkey in the first quarter of 2016, where the High Level Strategic Council meeting is expected to take place.

"We hope that President Poroshenko will visit [Turkey] in the forthcoming months to participate in a High Level Strategic Council meeting," Davutoglu said after a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Kiev.

According to the Ukrainian leader, a significant breakthrough in bilateral cooperation with Turkey is needed to enhance their partnership on economic, political and security matters.
