BANGKOK (Sputnik) – The strike began on Sunday and at least one flight remained cancelled the following day, according to the Khaosod English website.
Nok Air apologized for the inconvenience caused to its passengers in a statement issued on Monday.
"The airline has complied to the Thai aviation standards and is on process of upgrading its standards to meet with IOSA (IATA Operation Safety Audit), the global safety management, while some pilots did not meet the new criteria and went on strike to express their discontent," the statement explained.
The airline pledged to take responsibility for refunds and compensations in compliance with the Department of Civil Aviation regulations, the statement added.
