KIEV (Sputnik) — Aivaras Abromavicius announced his resignation in protest over alleged attempts by Poroshenko’s administration to put obstacles in his way.
"I liked my work. I have put together a unique team of about a hundred young reformers…A lot of work remains unfinished. If the conditions change and the Cabinet is revamped, I might consider the possibility [of remaining in his post," Abromavicius said in an interview with Germany's Deutsche Welle.
The day after Abromavicius announced his resignation plans, he was followed by four other ministers. However, they recalled their resignations later. Amid the government crisis, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that his government was ready to resign if parliament found it necessary.
