MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Iranian cybersecurity ensured by the country's intelligence services was one of the most important factors for the successful settlement of Iran's nuclear problem, the local parliament speaker's advisor for international affairs told Sputnik Persian Wednesday.

"Cybersecurity provided by our specialists has become one of the key factors of the smooth launching and functioning of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and the signing of an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program in 2015," Hossein Sheikholeslam said.

He added that Tehran knows about multiple IT-manipulations by the US and Israeli intelligence against Iran.

"It is worth mentioning at least a joint project of the US and Israeli intelligence services to knock Bushehr plant out of service using Stuxnet computer worm. Or wiretap of the hotel rooms and mobile phones of the Iranian diplomats at various stages of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program. In fact, in both cases we knew about the attacks beforehand which allowed us to prevent their consequences," Sheikholeslam said adding that such anti-Iranian provocations continue to take place.

Iran and six world powers — Russia, the United States, China, France, Britain, and Germany — signed a nuclear deal last July. It guaranteed the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions' relief.
