SINGAPORE (Sputnik) – Russia's first serial Be-200ES amphibious aircraft for the emergencies ministry will be showcased at the International Hydroaviasalon exhibition in the country's southern city of Gelendzhik in September, a source in the Russian military and industrial complex said Thursday.
"Taganrog-based Beriev Aircraft Company plans to present the first serial Beriev Be-200ES amphibious aircraft at the exhibition in Gelendzhik this year," the source told reporters at the Singapore Airshow 2016.
Be-200ES amphibious aircraft is designed to fit the specifications of the launch customer, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. It is a unique development of Russia’s aviation manufacturing industry, created with the use of modern aviation technologies to fight wildfires. These jets are able to skim the water surface, pumping water to subsequently extinguish the fire.
