WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Russian military has asked the US-led coalition against the Islamic State, or Daesh, for additional information about its campaign in order to better understand the coalition’s operations, US Air Forces Central Command Commander Lt. Gen. Charles Brown said in a briefing on Thursday.
"They [Russia] have asked a lot of things of us," Brown stated. "Not specifically areas not to fly or drop, but really looking for information to understand our operations, and that is not something I’m willing to share."
Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with the country's government fighting a so-called moderate opposition and numerous jihadist groups.
