MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The European Union should only accept those refugees who have good chances of finding a job and fit into European society, Hans de Boer, president of the Dutch employers' association VNO-NCW said Friday.
"You should let these people come on the basis of a test, where we must ask the question, 'Can you do well in our society?' They are genuine refugees, but you can't let everyone in," Hans de Boer told De Telegraaf newspaper in an interview.
According to de Boer, those refugees who have no future in Europe, should stay in Turkey or other countries in the region, as the European Union no longer has the resources to accept refugees in such large numbers.
The European Union is currently struggling to manage a massive refugee crisis, with hundreds of thousands of people fleeing conflict-torn countries in the Middle East and North Africa. The EU border agency Frontex recorded more than 1.8 million illegal border crossings in the EU in 2015.
