“On February 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud,” the Kremlin said.
During the telephone conversation, Putin and the Saudi king expressed their interest in settling the Syrian crisis and providing security in the Middle East.
“Common spirit was expressed on further growth in Russian-Saudi cooperation in all spheres. Interest was shown in settling the crisis situation in Syria and providing stability and security throughout the entire region of the Middle East and Northern Africa,” the Kremlin said in a statement.
Putin also reaffirmed his invitation to the king to visit Russia at his convenience.
“V.V. Putin confirmed the invitation to the Saudi king to visit Russia at any time,” the Kremlin added.
