BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel expressed hope on Friday that UK would stay in the EU and the participants of the European Council meeting would reach an agreement before the end of the day on EU reforms.
"We have not finished. I hope that by the end of the second half of the day we will have a text," Bettel told reporters upon arrival at the summit's second working session.
In February 18-19, EU leaders are meeting in Brussels to discuss the terms of the United Kingdom’s membership of the European Union.

Earlier, UK Prime Minister Cameron put forward four key proposals he would like to introduce for the United Kingdom to remain in the bloc — shifting power away from EU authorities back to the UK national legislature, exempting Britain from the EU "superstate" principle, removing the euro's single official EU currency status, and protecting the British economy by keeping eurozone members away from non-eurozone countries’ affairs.
