MOSCOW (Sputnik) — UK Prime Minister David Cameron cannot deliver on the deal with Brussels regarding Britain's EU membership and pursued insufficient goals at the talks while major challenges remained unaddressed, UKIP leader Nigel Farage said Sunday.

"All he asked for were a couple of minor changes, and the truth is he can't deliver this deal," Farage said as quoted by the BBC.

Cameron Says Willing to Stay Until Sunday to Reach EU Deal Agreement
He added that at the nationwide referendum on leaving the European Union people would decide on big challenges relevant for the country, such as migration or border controls.

EU leaders met in Brussels on February 18-19 to discuss the United Kingdom’s future in the bloc, reaching an agreement on Britain’s EU reform proposals negotiated by Cameron ahead of the nationwide vote on staying within the bloc.

Cameron’s EU Membership Deal to Trigger Spike in Migration
Cameron sought to revise the terms of his country's membership in the bloc, focusing on four main issues — shifting power away from EU authorities back to the UK national legislature, exempting Britain from the EU "superstate" principle, stripping the euro as the single official EU currency, and protecting the British economy by keeping eurozone members away from non-eurozone countries’ affairs.

After Friday's agreement, Cameron said he would campaign for Britain to stay in the bloc as the new deal guaranteed a special status for the United Kingdom within the European Union and delivered on the reform commitments he had made. The referendum to decide on the country's future in the European Union is set to take place on June 23.
