Magnitude 5.6 Quake Hits Japan Region - USGS
A 5.6-magnitude earthquake occurred on Monday in the Pacific Ocean, southeast of the Japanese island of Honshu, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The quake struck at 21:26 GMT on Sunday at a depth of about 18.3 miles, USGS said.

19 February 2016, 17:01 GMT
There were no immediate reports on casualties or damage. No tsunami warnings have been issued.
In 2011, a 9.0-magnitude earthquake and a subsequent tsunami led to the meltdown of reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan. Thousands of people were killed in the disaster, which was the largest nuclear catastrophe in the world since the 1986 Chernobyl accident.
