SANAA (Sputnik) – An airstrike by a Saudi-led coalition against the Shiite Houthis killed over 30 people in the northwestern Yemeni province of Saada, a local source told Sputnik on Sunday.
"Coalition fighter jets conducted a series of strikes in the Gafira area, resulting in the deaths of 31 people and dozens injuries. Ten houses were completely destroyed," the unnamed source said.
The source said the bodies of at least 12 children and 10 women had been discovered at the site.
The Saudi-led coalition carried out airstrikes on the southwestern province of Taiz earlier, including on a hospital near the strategic port of Mocha.
The Saudi-led coalition of Sunni Arab countries launched its campaign against the Houthi insurgency, at the request of Yemen's President-in-exile Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, in March 2015.
