MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Sky News cited data obtained through the Freedom of Information request which showed that drones were used 33 times in 2015 to smuggle banned items to prisoners, up from just two cases in the previous year.
Other items that were flown into UK jails included USB sticks, battery chargers, and novel psychoactive substances, also known as legal highs.
A December report by the His Majesty's Inspectorate of Prisons indicated that prisoners were getting increasingly creative with ways of having illegal items smuggled to them, including things being thrown over the wall by catapults.
