HOUSTON (Sputnik) — Foreign firms, including ones from Europe, have shown tremendous interest in doing business with Russia’s oil companies despite existing sanctions imposed against Moscow, a Russian delegation representative at the IHS CERA Week conference in Houston, Texas told Sputnik on Tuesday.
"We are in constant dialogue with foreign companies including European ones," the representative stated. "They are very interested in cooperating with Russia’s companies."
The source noted that the ongoing dialogue among companies characterizing is very active and involves information and experience sharing, professional exchanges as well as mutual visits.
Some companies have also evaluated possible joint development programs to implement when the sanctions against Russia are lifted.
The United States and the European Union imposed a series of sanctions on Russia's energy, banking and defense industries.
Russia has repeatedly refuted all allegations about its alleged involvement the Ukrainian crisis, and has pointed out that the sanctions undermine global stability.
The EU sanctions, prolonged several times since their introduction, are due to expire on July 31, 2016.
