In Latakia province the Syrian army and popular defense forces seized two villages in the province’s northern countryside and secured a number of strategic points in the northeast part of the region.
In Deir ez-Zor, a city in northeastern Syria 120 kilometers away from Raqqa, government forces killed 65 Daesh militants in a series of fierce battles fought over the past 24 hours, the agency reported citing military sources on the ground.
Earlier, Syrian army units blew up a 40-meter-long tunnel in the city’s al-Sinaa district, which Daesh terrorists used to store weapons and ammunition.
