"The United States and its regional allies are responsible for the beginning and continuation of the Syrian crisis," the statement obtained by RIA Novosti reads.
According to the statement, the violence in Syria continues because of the US and its regional partners' sustained support of terror activities, with Washington accused of being unable to play its role as a permanent member of the UN Security Council because of its failure to implement anti-terror resolutions.
Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with the country’s government fighting numerous opposition factions and jihadist groups, such as Islamic State, which is banned in a number of countries, including Russia and the United States.
Earlier in February, US regional allies, including Turkey and Saudi Arabia, said that they were ready to conduct a ground operation in Syria against terrorists.
