MOSCOW (Sputnik) – "Police called 20:50 hrs [20:50 GMT] on 24 Feb to man holding a woman against her will at restaurant in Irving St. NOT terrorist related. Police at scene," a statement on the official Twitter page of London’s Metropolitan Police Service says.
ITV reported citing a security source that there are a total of four people that all know each other on the premises of the restaurant.
According to RT, the hostage situation occurred at the Bella Italia restaurant, which is now cordoned off by security. RT said that the hostage taker is allegedly a former restaurant employee.
