RT’s daily current affairs and media commentary program "In the Now," has been nominated in the Best News Analysis/Commentary category, while Ameera David, who hosts the financial show Boom/Bust on RT America, is competing for Best News Anchor.
Four of RT’s documentaries — "Trauma" about the humanitarian crisis in eastern Ukraine; "Sleepy Hollow" about a sleep anomaly in a small Kazakh village; "Her War: Woman Vs ISIS" about Kurdish women defending their town’s borders from militants; "Sumud. 40 Years of Resistance," focused on refugees from western Sahara — have been also nominated as well as such RT promo projects as "Cosmotrek," "Politicking with Larry King," "Victory Day 70" and "RT 2035."
In 2015, RT was awarded four New York Festivals medals, including in the categories: Best News Anchor (Anissa Naouai); Promotional Art Direction ("Technology Update" program); Social Issues Documentaries ("Albino Africa," a documentary about the persecution of people with albinism in East Africa's Tanzania); Best Documentary/Information Program Promo (Salam Musafir's interview show in Arabic, "In A Word").
In 2014, RT won gold for a documentary titled "Blood and Honor" on North Caucasus and its ancient tradition of blood feuds, while WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's weekly interview program on RT took first prize the year before.
