MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Saudi Arabia's King Salman welcomed the recent Russia-US statement on cessation of hostilities in Syria during a phone talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin press service said Wednesday.
"The king of Saudi Arabia welcomed the reached agreements and expressed readiness to cooperate with Russia on their implementation," the press service said in a statement.
The deal between Russia and the United States was approved by the International Syria Support Group (ISSG). During its meeting on February 12, the ISSG agreed a final communique calling for swift humanitarian access to all besieged areas in Syria, and set a one-week deadline for measures to be implemented toward the cessation of hostilities in the country.
