HOUSTON (Sputnik) — Turkish Petroleum does not rule out launching new projects with Russian companies despite current tensions between Ankara and Moscow, CEO and president of Turkish Petroleum Besim Sisman told Sputnik on Wednesday on the margins of the IHS CERAWeek energy conference in Houston, Texas.
"It is possible," Sisman replied in response to a query whether there are any discussions on new projects with Russian firms. "We have very good relations with the Russian companies. There is no problem."
When asked whether there has been any impact of the ongoing tensions between Russian and Turkey on the work of Turkish Petroleum, Sisman said, “No, because we have contacts with other countries and Russia. There is no problem about that.”
"We are going on with our projects," Sisman stated. "For example, we have a project in South Siberia. We have a very good relations with them. No problem about them."
When asked whether any of the projects were stopped, he said, "No."
"Our government says that we have to go on your project," Sisman added
