Sweden’s Supreme Military Commander to Visit Lithuania
21:41 GMT 25.02.2016 (Updated: 22:19 GMT 25.02.2016) Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces, Gen. Per Micael Byden is coming to Lithuania on an official two-day visit, Lithuania’s Defense Ministry informs.
VILNIUS (Sputnik) – On Friday, Byden will meet with the leaders of Lithuanian Armed Forces as well as Foreign Minister Linas Antanas Linkevicius.
The supreme commander will be informed of the security threats in Lithuania as well as military drills.
Lithuanian-Swedish bilateral military cooperation is carried out in several areas. The two countries have set up a joint operational headquarters and carry out joint air, sea and land exercises.
