ZURICH (Sputnik) – The motion was passed with 165 votes for (87 percent) and 25 votes against (13 percent).
FIFA suspended the Indonesian and Kuwaiti football associations’ memberships in May and October last year respectively, with its Executive Committee finding government-level interference in both cases.
Despite the presence of all 209 national associations at Friday's extraordinary congress in Zurich's Hallenstadion, the suspensions made available 207 votes.
The world football governing body’s next Ordinary Congress is scheduled to be held on May 12-13.
