MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Los Angeles Times newspaper reported Saturday that three people were wounded after the scuffles broke out between Ku Klux Klan members and their opponents.
The newspaper added that 13 people were detained, following the incident.
The Ku Klux Klan was created after the US Civil War and spread its activities on the territory of the most southern states of the country. Klan's violent activities were directed against the African-Americans and the country's authorities. At the moment, Klan has lost the majority of its former influence, however it still advocates white supremacy and right-wing ideology.
