CAIRO (Sputnik) — On February 29, Lavrov is expected to visit Algeria to meet country's leadership and discuss a number of issues and agreements, including the one signed in 2001.
"Foreign ministers will discuss the strategic partnership of Russia and Algeria in detail in light of the statement signed by the presidents of the two states in April, 2001," the statement said on Saturday.
The statement added that Lavrov was expected to discuss a decrease in oil prices and counterterrorism efforts with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra.
According to the statement, Lavrov and Lamamra are expected to discuss cooperation in economic, science, technical and cultural areas.
