CAIRO (Sputnik) – Nabil Elaraby told the MENA news agency that he would not seek a second term after his powers as the Arab League's head expire on July 1, 2016.
Elaraby, a former foreign minister of Egypt, is leading the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States since July 1, 2011.
Traditionally, only Egyptian diplomats head the Arab League's General Secretariat. The headquarters of the organization is located in Cairo.
