"Today we should put aside ambitions and disagreements and to unite without any linkages or preconditions in order to defeat Daesh and other extremist groups that have posed a challenge to the human civilization," Lavrov said in an interview with the Algerian L'Еxpression newspaper.
Lavrov added that he appreciated anti-terror cooperation between Russia and Algeria and hoped that their joint activities would contribute to global counterterrorism efforts.
Countries across the globe have been boosting their security measures following a number of high-profile terrorist attacks and in the face of the threat posed by terrorist groups, including Daesh, outlawed in many countries including Russia, Daesh is infamous for conducting attacks worldwide and recruiting thousands of people from around the world into its ranks.
