MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov and Chinese Consulate-General in Russia Su Fangqiu met earlier in the day.
"The sides discussed issues related to the work on the draft UN Security Council resolution on DPRK [North Korea]," the statement reads.
In January, North Korea conducted its fourth nuclear test and launched a ballistic missile a month later in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
On Friday, US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power said Washington had circulated a draft resolution to expand the sanctions against North Korea over its nuclear activities, bringing the restrictive measures against Pyongyang to an unprecedented level.
