MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia and the United States reached an agreement on the ceasefire in Syria on February 22. The ceasefire took effect at midnight on Saturday Damascus time (22:00 GMT on Friday).

UN special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, said Friday that the halted talks on Syrian reconciliation will resume on March 7 in Geneva, provided that the ceasefire brokered by Moscow and Washington holds.

"Today, a meeting with Staffan de Mistura will be held. He will inform the minister about his plans," Bogdanov told reporters.
