WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States is unable to confirm if the attack against US consulate personnel in Pakistan was well-planned or if it was caused by an improvised explosive device, US Department of State spokesperson John Kirby told reporters on Tuesday.
"The United States strongly condemns the attack on an anti-narcotics convoy… in the tribal areas of Pakistan that killed two Pakistani employees of the US Mission in Pakistan," Kirby stated. "We don’t know how premeditated or planned this was."
Kirby noted that the United States is unable to confirm reports that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) caused the incident, and added that no parties have claimed responsibility.
