WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The governor of the southeastern US state of Florida, Rick Scott, is ready to endorse Republican Party frontrunner billionaire Donald Trump, a senior political analyst with a major broadcaster said late Tuesday.
"Fla. Gov. Rick Scott ready now to endorse Trump. Endorsements rarely decisive, but this is a genuine blow to [Florida Senator Marco] Rubio in his home state," Brit Hume of Fox News tweeted.
In another seeming defeat for Rubio, Texas Senator Ted Cruz is projected to win his home state and Oklahoma amid Trump's victories across five other "Super Tuesday" states.
Cruz's two victories catapult the far-right lawmaker to overtake Rubio's status as an alternative establishment-lane choice for outspoken and controversial Trump.
