The United States is looking forward to having more discussions with Russia on security issues, US Ambassador to Russia John Tefft said Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the ambassador, the participants of the summit will discuss the growing threats and the joint steps that can be taken to minimize the use of high-enriched uranium, ensure the security of radioactive materials, prevent the smuggling of nuclear materials and eliminate nuclear terrorism.

"We would be glad to have more opportunities to discuss security and stability issues with Russia. By the way, Obama will host the fourth and the final nuclear security summit in April," Tefft said, as quoted on the US Embassy's Russian-language Facebook page.

Earlier it was reported that the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit will be on March 31- April 1 in Washington.
