MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, opposition leader Mette Frederiksen of the Social Democrats put forward a proposal that the European states should create a joint system to combat radical imams that would result in deportations of those preachers, who incite hatred and violence.
"I believe we should go further [than the proposed European cooperation], and see whether we can deport all foreign imams that come to Denmark. I’m not saying it’s possible under current laws, but we should look into it," Knuth was quoted by the Danish Ritzau news agency as saying.
Abu Bilal Ismail, the mosque’s imam, has previously been known for his inflammatory remarks. In July 2014, he was filmed, calling on God to "destroy the Zionist Jews."
