MINSK(Sputnik) – EU Special Representative for Human Rights Stavros Lambrinidis is due to arrive in Belarus for a three-day working visit next week, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
"EU Special Representative for Human Rights Stavros Lambrinidis is planning to pay a working visit to the Republic of Belarus on March 9-11, 2016," the statement read.
According to the statement, the visit of an EU special representative for human rights to Belarus is being arranged for the first time and with the aim to promote further dialogue on human rights between Minsk and Brussels, which was resumed in mid-2015.
The EU special representative is due to hold several meeting in Belarus' Parliament and a number of country's ministries.
