The blast, that was caused by a suicide bomber driving an explosive-laden vehicle, killed at least 35 people in the Iraqi Babil governorate, according to local media.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — At least 35 people were killed and 30 injured in a terror attack in the Iraqi Babil governorate, Alsumaria TV channel reported Sunday, citing police sources.

According to the source, the blast was caused by a suicide bomber driving an explosive-laden vehicle.

The blast reportedly took place close to the security checkpoint at the entrance to the city of Hillah.
