"ARAF is attentive to all signals related to anti-doping rule violations, and will hold a further investigation after the release of the new movie by ARD channel about violations in Russian athletics. ARAF President Dmitry Shlyakhtin asked the investigative commission within the All-Russian Athletics Federation to analyze all episodes presented in the film, and thoroughly investigate every case," the statement said.
"ARAF is fighting without compromises against doping, and has done a lot of work for the return of our athletes on the international scene, we are open to a serious strategic partnership with the IAAF [International Association of Athletics Federations] and WADA [World Anti-Doping Agency] and will not allow individuals to cast a shadow on the Russian athletics," ARAF said on its website.
In November 2015, the WADA Independent Commission presented a report accusing Russia of numerous breaches of global anti-doping regulations and recommended the country be banned from international athletics competitions. After the release of first two documentaries on alleged doping abuse and corruption in the Russian sport, the IAAF provisionally suspended the ARAF's membership of the association.
The Russian authorities have promised to carry out a clean-up program to fulfill the WADA demands in order for Russian athletes to be allowed to participate in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
