MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Luxembourg counterpart Jean Asselborn have exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, stressing that during that period the countries reached the level of a genuine partnership, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday.
"It is noted [in the letters] with satisfaction that in course of history, the Russian-Luxembourg ties have gone a long way, reaching the level of genuine partnership, they note the continued commitment of Russia and Luxembourg to strengthening international relations’ stability and predictability by ensuring respect for international law and the central role of the United Nations is emphasized," the ministry said in a statement.
Moscow and Luxembourg City are set to further develop relations for the benefit of the two peoples, the statement stressed.
