The press service of the Russian Southern Military District reported that pilots of an attack aviation regiment based in Russia's Krasnodar region have embarked on special training sessions with the help of an Su-25SM flight simulator.
According to the press service, the simulator, among other things, "allows pilots to drill, destroying a variety of targets and hammering out tactics in a dog fight."

"This computerized system emulates a 3-D visualization of space and pilots to simulate a flight in all weather conditions, at day and night in any part of the world", the press service said.
The Sukhoi Su-25SM is an upgraded version of the Su-25, a single-seat, twin-engine jet aircraft developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau. It is designed to provide close air support for the Russian army's ground forces.
Earlier, it was reported that Russia will continue to upgrade its outdated Su-25 attack aircraft to Su-25SM jets, which feature ignificantly better survivability and combat effectiveness. The Russian Aerospace Forces plan to modernize about 80 Su-25s by 2020.
