YEREVAN (Sputnik) — The meeting is due to take place at the alliance's headquarters. Nalbandian and Ohanyan are also set to hold a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg prior to the NAC-Armenia session.
Earlier in March, Steffen Elgersma, a representative of political affairs and security division at NATO Headquarters, said that the alliance was seeking a closer cooperation with Armenia.
The Armenia-NATO cooperation is regulated by the Individual Partnership Action Plan signed in late 2005.
Armenia's participation to the plan stipulates periodic consultations with NATO on regional security, the development of the security strategy, as well as Armenia's military doctrine, and the improvement of the process of defense and budget planning along with other issues.
