With polls closing in the first of several states voting on Tuesday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is projected to win Mississippi.

Clinton has won a number of Southern states, and this latest victory contributes to her sizeable lead over Democratic rival, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Democratic primaries will also be held in Michigan on Tuesday, where Clinton is also expected to win, but polls have shown the race close with Sanders.
