PARIS (Sputnik) — Several operators are running only a one-third service during the day, including regional lines traveling to the northern and south-eastern France, as well as the Atlantic coast, the French BFMTV broadcaster said.
Interstate services have also been disrupted, with the line connecting France and Switzerland running at 50 percent and 20 percent of Eurostar trains cancelled, the media outlet added.
French unions participating in the strike — CGT, CFDT, Sud and Unsa — are calling for additional personnel to be hired, as well as pay hikes and guarantees about their working conditions.
The strike is set to end on Thursday at 8 a.m. local time (07:00 GMT).
