WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — With Ohio and Florida set to hold primary vote on March 15, Trump holds a 41 percent to 35 percent lead over Kasich’s 35 percent in Ohio and a 40 percent to 24 percent lead over Rubio in Florida, a new poll by CNN/ORC found.
Release of the poll followed Tuesday’s victory by Trump in three states, Michigan, Mississippi and Hawaii, where the real estate tycoon continued to pull ahead of rivals, despite increasing opposition to his candidacy by Republican party insiders.
Voter anger at establishment politicians has become a dominant theme of the 2016 contest to succeed US President Barack Obama.
On the Democratic side, the poll showed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with solid leads over Senator Bernie Sanders in delegate-rich Ohio and Florida.
For Clinton, victories there would mark a recovery following Clinton’s upset loss to Sanders in Michigan on Tuesday.
Florida will provide 99 delegates to choose a party nominee, while Ohio has 66 delegates.
