"Iran officially and clearly notified through ministries of defense and foreign affairs and through state TV that missiles' tests don't contravene (or violate) nuclear accord or SC's resolutions," Ramadan Shari, a press officer with the Guards, said.
The spokesman stressed that Iran was not going to change the stance on its ballistic missile program and said the Islamic Republic had a right to develop missile capabilities.
"This is our official answer, which won't be changed. Missile power is one of Iran's rights and it does not contradict any laws or international agreements," Ramadan Shari continued.
Iran’s new missile test prompted US President Barack Obama to extend the national emergency vis-a-vis Tehran. Two months ago, the United States also imposed new sanctions against people linked to Iran’s missile program over a missile test in October.
