MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, western media reported that Rotenberg was eyeing a stake in Russia’s largest airline, and had received permission from Putin to conclude such a deal.
"We have repeatedly raised the issue of what decisions the president makes personally. We have repeatedly urged you to ignore such reports that are frequently published, claiming that the president personally controls the National Wealth Fund, that the president makes personal decisions on what shares to sell… it is not true," Peskov said.
Aeroflot is Russia’s flagship carrier and one of the largest airlines in Europe. The company and its partners serve more than 1,000 destinations in 178 countries around the world.
In December, Putin said that Russian authorities would continue to work on the issue of divesting state shares in large companies such as the Aeroflot airline and the energy giant Rosneft.
