MOSCOW/NALCHIK(Russia), (Sputnik) — At least two people were injured on Friday in an explosion of a car in the town of Nazran located in Russia's Ingushetia region, a source in local security services said.
"A private car exploded near a mosque. Allegedly a gas cylinder [has exploded]. According to preliminary data, two persons were injured," the source told RIA Novosti.
The source added that the explosion occurred near the mosque in Nasyr-Kort district of Nazran and damaged four cars and a fence of a household located in the vicinity of the incident scene.
According to the source, the explosion may have been caused by an improvised explosive device.
An investigation into the incident is in progress.
