WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Obama is scheduled to visit Havana on March 21-22, representing the first time a sitting US president will step on Cuban soil in nearly 90 years.
"US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will join President Barack Obama on his historic trip to Cuba," the release stated.
This historic visit, the release added, demonstrates a commitment to chart a new course in US-Cuban relations by expanding commerce, travel and exchange of information between the two countries.
Last week, White House spokesperson Josh Earnest said Obama did plan to meet with dissidents during his visit to Cuba.
