WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Thursday, an attack aircraft struck a Daesh tactical unit near Mara. In Iraq, the coalition attacked targets near Kisik, Makhmur, Mosul, Ramadi, Sinjar, Tal Afar and Hit.
Targets in Iraq included fighting positions, tactical units, supply caches, machine guns, a rocket system and mortar firing positions.
“In Syria, coalition military forces conducted one strike using attack aircraft against ISIL [Daesh] targets. Additionally in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 13 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq,” the release said.
The US-led coalition of over 60 nations has been conducting airstrikes against Daesh first in Iraq and later Syria since 2014.
