MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The statement added that permanent attacks against city's residents, drivers and security forces became the agony of Calais.
"As the state is actually incapable of providing the citizens of Calais, 130 young activists of Generation Identitaire took the control of three bridges to block the access of migrants to the city," the communique published on the group's Facebook page said.
According to the group's Facebook, police officers started an operation to deblock the bridges and had already detained at least 12 activists.
The so-called Jungle camp in the French port city of Calais is hosting some 6,000 refugees, including over unaccompanied 500 children, who seek to travel via the Channel Tunnel to the United Kingdom where they intend to apply for asylum.
